
Chi Zhang
Biostatistician at Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo Chi is a statistician and part-time lecturer in biostatistics at the University of Oslo in Norway, and she is enthusiastic about using open-source technology in teaching and collaborations with clinicians and public health researchers.

About this speaker
She specializes in real-world data (RWD), focusing on hospital Electronic Health Records (EHR) and large public health registry data. She has developed ggehr, an extension of ggplot2 designed for visualizing EHR data.
From 2020 to 2022, she was involved in the COVID emergency response at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health. During this time, she contributed to the development of the open-source real-time analysis and public health surveillance system called Sykdomspulsen, which is now known as CSIDS. Additionally, she is co-leading the CAMIS working group.
As a part-time lecturer, she teaches statistics using R and Quarto at the Oslo Centre for Biostatistics and Epidemiology (OCBE) and offers R programming courses at Carpentries workshops at the University of Oslo (UiO).
In her free time, she enjoys cooking and spending time in the mountains.
