About this speaker
Daniel obtained his PhD in 2013, focusing on Bayesian model selection within his research. He began his career as a biostatistician at Roche, where he worked for five years. After that, he spent two years at Google as a Data Scientist before returning to Roche in 2020. In 2024, he co-founded RCONIS. Before that, he established and led the Statistical Engineering team at Roche, which focuses on developing production-ready packages, Shiny modules, and templates for data scientists.
Daniel is a (co)author of several R packages published on CRAN and Bioconductor, as well as the book "Likelihood and Bayesian Inference: With Applications in Biology and Medicine." He currently serves as co-chair of the Software Engineering in Biostatistics working group at openstatsware.org.
