Robert Platt is a professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Occupational Health (EBOH) at McGill University. He serves as a senior investigator at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre and the Lady Davis Institute of the Jewish General Hospital. Additionally, he is an investigator at the McGill Pharmacoepidemiology Research Unit and holds the Albert Boehringer I Endowed Chair in Pharmacoepidemiology.
Professor Platt is the Executive Co-Lead and the leader of the Methods Team for the Canadian Network for Observational Drug Effect Studies (CNODES). His research focuses on enhancing methods for studying medications using administrative data, with particular emphasis on causal inference methods and the impact of medications during pregnancy.
He is the editor-in-chief of Statistics in Medicine and serves on the editorial boards of the American Journal of Epidemiology and Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety. Professor Platt has published over 325 articles, one book, and several book chapters on biostatistics and epidemiology.
